FAQs
Can any site participate in Pet Site Guides? No. In order to participate/get a listing in the Pet Site Guides, each site must have a major section dedicated to selling/adopting animals, information on their care and keeping, selling supplies/food/services relating to animals, or are designed to share the joys animals bring into our lives. My site is about pets, but you still didn't accept it. Why? Pet Site Guides will always be a family-friendly site. Any site that would not be acceptable viewing for small children, promotes illegal activities, or promotes doing harm to animals will NOT be accepted - regardless of whether or not additional advertising was purchased. What if I pay for additional advertising and my site is not accepted? A full refund will be issued. What order do the sites listed appear in? Within each of the Guides, sites are listed in the following order:
All of the sites are listed within each grouping based on their submission date in ascending order. Why do the sites at the end of the listings not have a picture?Sites appearing at the end of each category are those that have been added by our editors as having free resources or are charities that assist animals. On occasion, our editors will also be adding listings for commercial websites that offer pet owners quality products to ensure the health and welfare of their animals. Why did my listing get moved? We make every attempt to place sites where the owner requests. Sometimes we move a listing to a category we believe will be more effective in getting a site visitors. We also plan to try and keep each section of the guides limited to no more than 2 or 3 total pages. In order to do this, we will be continuously adding new categories and switching sites around to ensure that they are easily found by our site visitors. If you offer animals for sale or adoption, sell products, or offer services, your listing will at some time be moved to location specific categories. The location specific categories will be added as Pet Site Guides grows and those guides that display these types of websites grow. Anyone who has purchased premium advertising for a site that has been moved will continue to enjoy the same level of visibility in the new category and the advertising period will remain the same. Why are some sites listed in more than one guide? Many of the sites listed on Pet Site Guides offer animals, information or products that may fit in more than one category. Sites may be listed more than once, but the actual page of the site being linked to will match the guide topic in which it resides. Are the websites in the guides vetted for quality, accuracy and reliability? We review every website that is submitted prior to acceptance. We review them for adherence with our Terms of Service and that they are of a high quality. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to ensure that every site is 100% factually accurate or that everyone offering animals for sale or adoption or sells products and services are reliable. We recommend that you use Pet Site Guides much the same as you would use your local phone book and encourage you to research any company listed prior to doing business with them. |
