Rescue Organizations
These are the heroes of animal rescue - they take on the largest and often most expensive animals - horses and provide them with a safe and nurturing environment and seek to find them permanent, loving homes.
They are more beautiful than anything in the world, kinetic sculptures, perfect form in motion.
~ Kate Millett - American Author

Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is off the track Thoroughbreds...horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury. Our dedication has grown to include horses that are difficult to find homes for...older horses that are unwanted after their "useful years" are over, and older stallions that cannot be gelded due to the risk of complications. Though we specialize in Thoroughbred rescue, we accept all breeds.
Started in 2000, Bright Futures Farm also works to provide bright futures for youth offenders who are able to perform their community service as volunteers on the farm (many continue to volunteer after they have completed their mandatory service). Bright Futures works with volunteers at the sanctuary in Spartansburg, PA, and is always looking for volunteers willing to foster horses on their own property or donors willing to sponsor horses that are permanently living at Bright Futures.
